[The Epoxies]
aren't aping the lame bands that rode off of new wave into superstardom
… they're fun, edgy, and everything that genre could've been. Fronted by the devastating Roxy Epoxy, The Epoxies' punked-up New Wave stylings, fashion forward look and unbelievable stage show have caught the attention and imagination of the music world. The band blends bouncey hooks and punk energy, with a knack for ultra-tight, pop songwriting. Balancing razor guitars and space age synthesiser sounds against driving beats and the urgent vocal stylings of Roxy Epoxy, The Epoxies music is new wave at it's irresistable best: catchy, upbeat and dancable as hell. "Holy crap, I can't
print your freaking record fast enough. What are you guys trying to do
to me?" Since their formation the Epoxies have been on a tear. Following the breakout success of their single "Need More Time" The Epoxies released a self-titled debut album on Seattle's Dirtnap Records. The album flew off store shelves so fast the label was caught flatfooted. Almost four years later, the album continues to be a worldwide conversation piece. Sales have shown little sign of slowing down with the inclusion of "Need More Time" on Fat Wreck Chords widely successful "Rock Against Bush" compilation. Sparked by the success of "Need More Time", the S/T album, numerous U.S. tours, and a European tour supporting NOFX, the Epoxies wracked up print and radio attention both nationally and abroad. Last year (2005) showed no sign of slowing down for the Epoxies. They released their second record "Stop the Future" on Fat Wreck Chords in May. Relentless touring included shows with the Undertones, Groovie Ghoulies, and Lovemakers; full tours with the Aquabats, Phenomenauts, and Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies as well as the three month Fat Wreck tour with Against Me!, Soviettes, and Smoke or Fire. 2006 has thus far put the band back on the road in Europe with the Briefs and on a headlining tour of the U.S. with the Phenomenauts and Teenage Bottlerocket. Keep an ear to the ground about another record in the works. It's already been a whirlwind so far. What's coming next should prove to be even crazier… The Epoxies are always seeking ways to promote themselves and their music. They will be happy to do anything they can do to help you with a story or interview. Please feel free to get in touch. |
